Digital Asset Assessment Tool (DAAT)

Under the JISC 4/04 programme, ULCC is leading a partnership to develop a Digital Asset Assessment Tool (DAAT) for JISC, to help organisations in the HFE sector assess their digital preservation requirements.

The main purpose of the DAAT project is to develop a digital preservation assessment tool for use within the UK HE/FE and research, learning and teaching communities. It will provide those responsible for managing digital resources in libraries, archives, data centres, computer services and research teams, with a valuable tool for identifying the preservation needs of their digital holdings. It will do so in a way which allows scarce resources to be focused on those assets where the risk of loss and cost of loss is greatest.

Further information about DAAT is available at the DAAT website.
