Current Activities

Current Digital Preservation activities at ULCC include:

National Digital Archive of Datasets (NDAD)
ULCC has operated NDAD for The National Archives since 1998. NDAD preserves and provides online access to archived digital datasets and documents from UK central government departments.
UK Web Archive Consortium (UKWAC)
ULCC handles collection management for JISC as part of the UK Web Archiving Consortium (UKWAC), capturing and archiving web sites from JISC projects and other web sites of relevance to this community.
Digital Preservation Training Programme (DPTP)
Under the JISC 4/04 programme, ULCC is developing a Digital Preservation Training Programme (DPTP) modeled on Cornell University's Digital Preservation Management Course.
Digital Asset Assessment Tool (DAAT)
Under the JISC 4/04 programme, ULCC is leading a partnership to develop a Digital Asset Assessment Tool (DAAT) for JISC, to help organisations in the HFE sector. The main purpose of the DAAT tool is to identify and prioritise preservation risks.
Their Past Your Future (TPYF)
Wartime reminiscences preserved. ULCC is managing the permanent preservation of digital resources created in 2005 under the "Their Past Your Future" and "Home Front Recall" programmes. As part of this service for the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA), we will also provide online access to these audio-visual materials.
Linnean Collections
ULCC is working with The Linnean Society of London to create a digital archive of the Society's historic collection of specimens collected and classified by the great Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778).
National Data Repository (NDR)
ULCC operates the NDR, offering a flexible approach to data management so that you can choose a solution that suits you best. Leave your data in the hands of experienced professionals or manage it yourself. Collections can be added to, catalogued, viewed, searched and sorted via the Internet.
